There used to be a time when traveling was easy, but after years of the pandemic, travelers are asking more questions than ever before. Buying tickets and booking your hotel is fairly simple, but figuring out all the details you need to know before traveling internationally can be exhausting. We’ve put together a few answers to the top questions visitors have before booking their flights to Mexico. If you’re wondering about the Canada travel restrictions update, the new requirements to travel to USA, or the Mexico entry requirements COVID, then this is the place for you!

Do I need a COVID test to fly to Mexico?

No, Mexico does not require visitors to take a COVID test before boarding flights to Mexico or when crossing the border by land or sea. However, when returning to the U.S. from Mexico, or to several other countries, you will need to test before your departure flight.

Mexico COVID Restrictions

While there is health screening in place at airports, ports of entry, and even at local restaurants and stores, there are no Mexico COVID restrictions. At the beginning of the pandemic, the Mexican government created a stoplight system to determine risk and dictate Mexico COVID restrictions. Currently, the country has a green light, which means nationals and foreigners are free to move about the country.

Mexico Entry Requirements COVID

Those flying into the country, or crossing over by land or sea are not required to present a negative COVID test, be fully vaccinated, or complete quarantine upon arrival. Mexico entry requirements COVID do mean, however, that you will need to fill out an online health form to indicate your health status upon arrival. This form takes just a few minutes to fill out for each passenger.

Requirements for Travel to USA

As of the current moment, all passengers need to provide proof of a negative COVID test, taken within 24 hours, before attempting to travel to USA. In addition, all passengers who are not American citizens or who are non-immigrants need to present proof of being fully vaccinated before they will be admitted to the United States.

Getting a COVID Test Before Returning to the U.S. from Mexico

If you are planning to take a vacation to any of the major tourist destinations in the country, you may be wondering how hard it is to get a COVID test before returning to the U.S. from Mexico. The reality is that it isn’t hard at all. You will be able to find testing centers all over the city and even at your hotel in some cases. Tests are done quickly, with little to no lines, and you’ll have your results within the hour.

Canada Travel Restrictions Update

The most recent Canada travel restrictions update requires that all foreign nationals traveling to the country be fully vaccinated, having completed the full doses for any of the accepted vaccines at least two weeks before travel. Documentation must be uploaded to ArriveCAN before travel is initiated. This new update also indicates that fully vaccinated travelers no longer need to test before entering the country, nor do they need to quarantine.

Do You Have to Be Vaccinated to Fly?

No, you do not need to be vaccinated to fly, but if you are a non-immigrant or citizen traveling to the United States, you do need to be vaccinated before they will allow you to enter the country.
